Harbour Barcelona Information

Ferry Barcelona

The seaport Barcelona is always worth visiting

Many seaports define themselves only by their position at the seaside and the shipping traffic. But in Barcelona the port is only one out of many attractions of the city.

Not far from the city center there can be found the ferry port, the cruiseport, the commercial harbour as well as the olympic port for smaller ships that had been built for the Olympic Games in 1992.

The most commonly used routes lead from Barcelona by ferry to the Balearic Islands like Mallorca and Ibiza. Especially the shipping company Balearia offers a lot of different ferries from Spain to the Balearic Islands.

Barcelona is a favourite starting point or a stopover for Mediterranean cruises. Even gigantic ocean liners find space enough at the modern port terminals.

Barcelona and its places of interest

If one has a stopover in Barcelona port one should use the time to discover the Catalonian capital. Regarding the cultural, musical, architectural and culinary attractions Barcelona can cope with all the other European metropoles.

The main attractions like the famous shopping mile Las Ramblas, Montjuic, the hill with the panoramic view and the historical center can be easily reached by foot from the Barcelona port.

It is quite a distance to the museums that show the works of Picasso and Gaudi as well as to the Sagrada Familia, the church that is still under construction.

But there leave shuttle busses or public transportation means from nearly all marinas of the port to the centrally located places in the city.
