Harbour Bari Information
Ferries Bari
From Bari eastwards
Bari is located in the south of the Adriatic Sea coast amidst a beautiful fauna and flora. Behind Naples, Bari with its harbor Porto Vecchio and the estimated 230,000 inhabitants is the second largest and economically most important city in the south. Above all ferry shipping in the Mediterranean plays an important role because there are a lot of ferries from Bari to many interesting destinations, e.g. Bari - Igoumenitsa and Patras on the Greek Peloponnesus or Bari - Dubrovnik in Croatia. There is also a ferry which leaves for Durres in Albania.
In Italy a ferry is a quite normal means of transportation that many natives use every day.
Bari is worth visiting
Italy's north and south do not only differ with regard to the economic situation but also regarding the landscape and the people. If one asks the Italians themselves they confirm that there are different habits in the two parts which sometimes lead to rivalry. Bari with its ferry port and the traditional activities there is a typical example for a southern Italian city. The clocks seem to run a bit slower than in the hectic metropolises of Milan or Rome. Besides tourism, agriculture is one of the most important sources of income. On average people there have less money than the fellow countrymen in the north, but they seem to be more even-tempered and happier. The pleasant climate is supposed to play a major role.
Places of interest in Bari
