Reaching and leaving Venice by ferry

There is no better way to get to Venice or leave the town in the water than by ship. Therefore, in Venice ferry transport plays an important role.

Venice itself is certainly worth visiting but on the other hand distant destinations can also easily be reached from the Venice port: as e.g. Greece.

The ferry Venice – Patras takes passengers to the third largest city of Greece. There is another ferry connection to visit the Greek islands which is the ferry Venice – Corfu.

If one gets by ferry to Venice and catches a glimpse of the townscape he will inevitably fall in love with it. If one arrives in the Italian town by sea he immediately sees Venice’s core: St. Mark’s Square. Thousands of tourists bustle around on the square which belongs to the most important places of the world. Flocks of pigeons cover St. Mark’s Square in front of St. Mark’s Cathedral.

Small churches and picturesque squares

No matter if by foot or by gondola Venice is worth discovering. There is a smell of Cappuccino, Pizza and Pasta in the small streets. Even if one gets lost in the narrow streets small churches and picturesque squares appear which are worth visiting.

The museums come up with important art works and even the buildings themselves are real artworks. The Rialto Bridge has for a long time been the only possibility to cross the Canale Grande. Even today it is the most important bridge.
