Security
Your security is important to us
Bookings and payments via ocean24 are subject to the highest possible security standards. Thanks to the high-performance SSL coding technology (Secure Sockets Layer) and PCT (Private Communication Technology) which is supported by Microsoft Internet Explorer as of release 3.0 and all other common browsers, all your transactions are protected. SSL encodes your credit card number, name, address and telephone number before they are sent via the Web. This makes business handling via the Internet even safer than on the telephone or in a physical shop. In order to prevent any abuse, your personal data is saved on a different server to your payment details. Payment processing is secured by our specially selected partner, an international payment provider, and meets the highest safety standards.
Our servers are equipped with state of the art technology and are installed in an electronic data processing centre belonging to T-Systems which does its utmost to hinder any electronic or physical access by non-authorised persons. All servers are protected by firewalls.
We protect your privacy:
1. We specifically ask you if we need information to identify you personally ("person-related data "). For example, if you would like to register as a user of ocean24, we will ask you for a user name and your e-mail address. The user name - e.g. your name or a pseudonym - can be chosen freely by you.
2. In order to make sure that your personal data for registration as a user is correct, you can always check your customer information and update it.
For further information regarding the protection of your privacy please read our "FAQ" section.
ocean24 uses cookies which are related to single sessions (so-called session cookies). These cookies are needed to carry out the booking procedure as the system cannot otherwise retain the necessary details until the end of the process.
If you do not accept these cookies, the booking process cannot be completed. As soon as you finish an ocean24 session, the cookies related to this session will automatically be deleted from your system. Most web browsers accept cookies automatically in their standard settings and we recommend you to enable this type of cookie in your browser standard settings. The section "Questions and Answers" also explains how.
However if you specifically want, ocean24 will install long-term cookies on your PC which make the so-called "Auto-Login" possible. On the one hand the booking process will be made easier for you by this and on the other ocean24 can offer you customised information, too.
Once you have initially registered with ocean24 and not clicked the box "Auto-Login", this function can no longer be used by you. Only temporary cookies will then be used.
Information you should also have regarding protection of your data:
Ocean24 can include links to other websites. Please note that if you click one of these links, ocean24 no longer takes any responsibility for the other website where you land. We recommend that you read the data protection declarations from all such sites as their basics may well differ widely from the ocean24 declaration of protection. Naturally you alone are responsible for keeping your passwords and other information regarding your customer account confidential. Please be very careful, responsible and watchful with this information, especially when online.
On top of the cases described above, ocean24 has the rights to pass on information about the user if this is necessary according to legal regulations or by court order or if requested by a governmental body or penal authority. ocean24 is also permitted to disclose information about the user if done in good faith that such a disclosure is necessary or advisable for other reasons, especially to protect the rights or assets of ocean24. Or should we have cause to assume that disclosure of information is necessary to identify, to make contact or to commence legal action against a person who may damage our rights or assets, whether deliberately or not or if this kind of activity could damage a third party.
Major changes in the manner of use of person-related data by ocean24 will, if necessary, be described in future issues of this data protection guideline. Should you have doubts regarding our data protection guideline, you are welcome to turn to ocean24@dertour.de at any time. ocean24 will do their best to answer questions within five working days.
